The artist Christian Rock worked on board cruise ships for several years. The constant travelling on the oceans of the Atlantic and Indian Ocean opened his eyes to the vastness of the sea’s sky. This was particularly impressive at night on open sea, far away from any source of light. Its endlessness correlates with the twinkling stars in the sky.
For the artist, their radiance is comparable to polished diamonds, embodying glory and splendour for him. This analogy of diamonds is justified in the artist’s biography. As a teenager, he completed an internship with a diamond expert. Here, he acquired his first diamond. Since then, the radiance and the perfection of these gems has continued to fascinate him.
